The Underwater World
The waters around Turtle Island are home to diverse marine life including clownfish, parrotfish, angel fish, sea urchins, and occasionally wild sea turtles. The coral formations range from table corals to branching corals in shades of purple, blue, and yellow.
Snorkeling Conditions
Water depth ranges from 1-5 meters near the island, with visibility typically 5-15 meters depending on conditions. Water temperature stays warm at 27-29C year-round. The best visibility is during the dry season (April-October) and in morning hours.
Equipment and Pricing
Snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins) is available for rent at IDR 200,000 including a guided session. Equipment is included in our Combo and Full Day packages. You can also bring your own gear.
Safety Tips
Always snorkel with a buddy or guide. Wear reef-safe sunscreen to protect the coral. Do not touch or step on coral formations. Life jackets are available for non-confident swimmers. Our guides know the best spots and will keep you safe.
Best Snorkeling Spots
The eastern side of Turtle Island has the healthiest coral gardens. The area between the island and the mainland features scattered coral bommies where fish congregate. Ask your guide to show you the turtle feeding area for the best chance of seeing wild turtles.
