Family Turtle Island Experience Bali — Kids & Toddlers
The Family Turtle Island Experience is a gentle, child-paced half-day trip from Tanjung Benoa: a private glass bottom boat (IDR 500,000 per boat, up to 9 people) glides over the reef so your kids can watch fish through the floor, then a short, calm crossing of around ten minutes brings you to Turtle Island to meet sea turtles up close. There are no age limits, child-size life jackets are provided, and you can skip the watersports entirely. Most families are back at their hotel by early afternoon — in plenty of time for a nap, a swim, or the Uluwatu sunset.
Families with young children are our most frequent guests, and the trip is shaped around them. Turtle Island Bali is operated by Juara Holding Group, an Indonesian travel company since 2015 — the same local team that answers your WhatsApp also runs your boat.

- Short and flexible. The boat ride and island visit take roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours in total. Long enough to feel like an adventure, short enough for toddler attention spans.

The boat has a clear viewing panel in the hull. As you cruise over the reef, your kids watch tropical fish swirl below. The crew stops over the liveliest patch of reef so little ones get a proper look without ever entering the water.
On Turtle Island
On the island your family meets green, hawksbill and olive ridley turtles — the three species found in Bali’s waters — from hatchlings to large adults, along with other resident animals. Our guides keep the visit calm and respectful: children are shown how to behave around the turtles, and we encourage gentle observation over grabbing or posing. Is It Safe for Toddlers and Babies?
Yes — this is one of the few boat activities in Bali that genuinely suits under-fives. Here is what parents ask us about most:
- Life jackets in children’s sizes are provided on board. Tell us your kids’ ages when you book and we prepare the right sizes.
- Boarding is from a beach jetty area, with crew on hand to help you carry little ones aboard. A baby carrier works better than a stroller — the stroller can wait in the car.
- The crossing is short — around ten minutes each way on sheltered water, so seasickness is rarely an issue even for small children.
- Morning is best for babies. Book the first slots for the calmest sea, softer sun and thinner crowds. Bring a hat, reef-safe sunscreen and a change of clothes.
- Feeding and changing: the trip is short enough to plan around feeds, and your driver can build in stops wherever you need them.
The No-Watersports Option (Our Most Requested Package)
Here is the question we hear more than any other on WhatsApp: “Can we visit Turtle Island without doing any watersports?” Absolutely. The glass bottom boat and Turtle Island visit is a complete experience on its own — no banana boat, no jet ski, nothing you have to politely decline on the beach. Families with older kids who do want a thrill can add watersports on the same morning: banana boat from IDR 110K and jet ski from IDR 235K per ride. Best Time of Day — and When You’ll Finish
Parents rarely ask us just when the tour starts; they ask when it ends. A typical message from a Nusa Dua family reads: “If we start at 9am, what time are we done? We’d love to make the Kecak dance at Uluwatu.” Here is the honest timing:

Most of our family guests stay in Nusa Dua, Uluwatu or Seminyak, and nearly every enquiry starts with “Do you pick up from our hotel, and what does the transfer cost?” Yes — we collect you from your hotel lobby and bring you back. Choose the car that fits your crew (transfer prices are quoted on request via WhatsApp, based on your hotel area):

Tanjung Benoa is famous for haggling and “special prices”. We publish ours instead:
- Private glass bottom boat + Turtle Island: IDR 500,000 per boat (max 9 people — one price for the whole family).
- Tours start from IDR 150K per person.
- Complete private package including Toyota Alphard with driver: USD 100 per person.
- Anything else — quoted on request via WhatsApp, in writing, before you commit.

Is there a minimum age for the glass bottom boat and Turtle Island?
No. Babies and toddlers are welcome — the water is sheltered, the crossing is short, and child-size life jackets are provided. Just tell us your children’s ages when booking so we prepare the boat properly.
Can we book for tomorrow morning, or even today?
Usually, yes. Same-day and next-day bookings are one of our most common requests. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm boat and driver availability within minutes during the day.
Will my kids get to release baby turtles?
Only if the conservation schedule allows it on your date — hatchling releases depend on nesting season and hatchling availability, and we will never promise one to sell a ticket. Ask us about your dates and we will tell you the real odds.
Do we have to swim or get wet?
No. The whole experience happens on the boat and on the island. Snorkelling and watersports are optional extras, never a requirement.
What should we bring for a toddler?
A hat, reef-safe sunscreen, a light change of clothes, water and a small snack. A baby carrier beats a stroller for boarding. Everything else — life jackets, shade, patient crew — is on us.
Is the boat private or shared?
